A six-figure investment in tennis court improvements at Dawson Park could be served up if a plan is approved by Dundee councillors.
The £141,000 proposal includes a new porous surface, new floodlighting, lining and fence, and improved socket post strainers and netting for the court.
Fairmuir and South Road courts have already been targeted in the early stages of an action plan, with Dawson Park to follow.
Talks have already taken place with Tennis Scotland, the Lawn Tennis Association and other partners to drive the sport forward locally.
The courts at Dawson Park were identified as part of the early actions and as a centre for the development of tennis in the city.
The proposals will be discussed at a meeting of Dundee City Council’s environment committee on Monday.
Environment convener Councillor Craig Melville said: “There is no doubt that the success of Andy Murray has helped inspire Dundee tennis enthusiasts to get out and get playing.
“We have seen a significant investment in sporting facilities across Dundee in recent years and I am glad that tennis is also benefiting. The council is working hard to improve the facilities for all to enjoy.
“I want to make sure that we can encourage tennis stars for the future.”
