Police in Dundee are still trying to piece together what happened to a man found with a serious neck injury in Blackness Road on Wednesday night.
The 34-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance after he was discovered by a member of the public at around 9.45pm.
The man remains in hospital receiving medical treatment today. It is understood he had suffered stab injuries.
He was found between Abbotsford Street and Peddie Street and officers cordoned off the area while they carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
Enquiries are still ongoing to establish the circumstances and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed an incident or been aware of a disturbance in the area around the time.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said the man was wearing a light coloured top and dark trousers when he was found.
She said: “The male was conveyed from the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service to Ninewells Hospital for medical treatment, where he currently remains.
“Blackness Road was closed off for a period of time as a result of the incident and to allow enquiries to take place.
“Police officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this male or anyone acting suspiciously in that area or witnessed any incidents or disturbances around that time.”
