A man sped through the streets of Dundee so fast there was smoke coming from his tyres.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard James Duncan, 25, was being chased by police with their blue lights flashing as he raced through residential roads at more than 60mph.
The court was told Duncan, of Pitkerro Drive, mounted a kerb and narrowly missed hitting a fence.
Depute fiscal Trina Sinclair told the court: “The accused accelerated harshly away from police and turned into Dens Road at more than 60mph.”
Police then saw the accused on Arthurstone Terrace and saw “smoke coming off the tyres” of his vehicle.
The vehicle was traced a short time later and Duncan was found hiding in a garden.
Solicitor Scott Norrie told the court Duncan was taking class A drugs around the time of the incident and was moving the car to clear part of his drugs debt.
He admitted driving dangerously, without a licence or insurance, in the city centre on April 11. Sentence was deferred until June 5.
