A serving police officer is to appear for trial at Dundee Sheriff Court next week, charged with a series of assaults.

He further denies that on March 19 2010, at Perth Police Station, he assaulted David Brown and threw him to the ground. Gillespie also denies he assaulted David Stewart within a police car near Perth Leisure Pool, on October 5 2010, by punching him.
He further denies that on February 9 2011, at Provost Road in Dundee, he assaulted David Donald, kicking him in the groin, on May 31 2011 at Lochee High Street, assaulted Maurice Fraser by punching him on the head and on September 8 2011, at Abernethy Road, Dundee, assaulted William Forbes, placed his foot on his neck and punched him on the head, to his injury.
