Broughty Ferry’s land train has picked up its first passengers.
Saturday’s inaugural journey of the novelty train, which is yet to be named, was attended by Depute Lord Provost Christina Roberts, as well as dignitaries from the Broughty Ferry Traders’ Association and Local Community Planning Partnership.
The first day proved popular, according to organiser Elaine Stewart, with the train travelling on a route from the pier to Barnhill Rock Garden.
Elaine has also asked children to come up with a name for the land train.
She said: “We have had a steady day. It was great. There was a lot of interest and plenty of smiling faces.
“We were lucky with the weather and there was a sort of holiday atmosphere. There has been a great show of support and we are very grateful.
“We have still got a couple of weeks left to run on our competition to name the train but we have submissions.
“We are really hoping for something quirky and original.”
