Jail for Dundee man who had sex with 14-year-old girl

A man who told a 14-year-old girl “you better be on the pill” after having sex with her has been jailed for 18 months.
Nathan Gray, 25, was in touch with the girl on Facebook before the incident, which a court heard left her “distressed and tearful”.
Depute fiscal Chris McIntosh previously told Dundee Sheriff Court: “She found it very difficult to speak about the incident. She said she kept getting angry thinking about it.
“After it was over, he said something similar to ‘you had better be on the pill’. She got distressed and went to the toilet and cried and was sore down below.
“She told a friend and her parents and police were subsequently informed.”
Solicitor Larry Flynn said: “He made an error of judgment on that particular day and he faces the consequences for that.
“He is aware that a custodial sentence is uppermost in your lordship’s mind.”
Gray, 25, of Transform, Brewery Lane, Dundee, pleaded guilty on indictment to a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child between 13 and 16.
Sheriff Tom Hughes told him: “This is an extremely serious matter of you taking advantage of a young girl.”
Gray was also placed on the sex offenders register.
