Tickets for Dundee Flower and Food Festival are on sale from Monday.

The packed weekend programme will include free cookery and gardening demonstrations, children’s activities, a craft fair, live music and TV celebrities.

The three-day extravaganza runs from Friday September 5 to Sunday 7 and is organised by Dundee City Council.

Gardening fans will be treated to displays by Beechgrove stars Carole Baxter, George Anderson and Jim McColl.

The World Jampionships will also make another appearance at the festival and the Dundee Cake Trophy will also be a coveted award.

Highlights this year include top chefs Paul Rankin and Nick Nairn, who said: “I’m looking forward to the Dundee Flower and Food Festival.

“Since I opened my cook school in Aberdeen we’ve tried so much fantastic produce from up here. It should be a lovely event.”

Dundee City Council depute environment convener Vari McDonald said: “I am delighted to be able to announce that tickets for the Dundee Flower and Food Festival will go on sale this Monday.

“This year’s festival is on track to be as popular as ever and we have managed to attract a range of celebrities that will appeal to a wide audience.

“There’s something for everyone packed with cookery and gardening demonstrations, stunning floral displays and inspirational ideas for your home and garden.”

Tickets for the event will go on sale on at Dundee City Box Office in City Square, and are also available from www.dundeebox.co.uk.
