Dundee’s new street festival, Almost Blue, is up and running and all set to provide a great weekend of music in the city centre.
The festival, which includes 19 city centre venues, is to take place over the weekend of June 27, 28 and 29 and includes music of all genres from dozens of bands at more than 100 gigs.
It has been arranged to fill the gap created by the cancellation this year of the Dundee Blues Bonanza and features some of the Bonanza regulars along with dozens of bands from across Scotland.
Almost Blue began in just two venues, Fat Sam’s and Clark’s on Lindsay Street two years ago, taking place at the same time as the Dundee Blues Bonanza.
However, when the Bonanza committee announced they were to take a break this year due to illness and the World Cup taking place, city centre pubs and clubs were keen for a replacement event to keep the momentum built up over 20 years going.
Organisers are urging fans to come out in their usual numbers to support the weekend.
