A man who was caught trying to get into a Dundee nightclub with cannabis and a ‘tick list’ was jailed for eight months.
Dwayne Yuill, 26, of Bonnethill Place, had previously admitted being concerned in the supply of two class B drugs cannabis and methcathinone and appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday for sentencing.
The court heard Yuill had been searched as part of a police operation outside Dj Vu on October 12.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson said the total value of the cannabis recovered was £248.
After his arrest, Yuill was taken to police headquarters where he was told they may obtain a warrant to search his home address.
There they discovered white powder, which was later tested and found to be methcathinone or M-Cat, estimated to be worth £560.
Defence solicitor Kevin Hampton pointed out his client had been open and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.
Sentencing Yuill to eight months in prison, Sheriff Richard McFarlane said: “Your motivation seems to be financial hardship and you thought it was an easy way to earn money.
“You did not think about harm to others or about other ways to make money.”
Sheriff McFarlane also ordered forfeiture of the drugs, equipment and £290 cash also recovered from him at Dj Vu.
