Dundee trading standards officers want to hear from car buyers
ByThe Courier Reporter
People in Dundee are being urged to report any concerns about recently purchased secondhand vehicles from Dundee car dealers to trading standards.
The call comes just days after a joint operation by Police Scotland swooped on Glencross Motors on Clepington Road and business owner Charles Sandeman’s home in Invergowrie.
Trading standards, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency are also involved in the ongoing operation which saw around 100 vehicles checked for defects on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said the checks are part of a wider inquiry being carried out on vehicle standards, documentation and registration of vehicles.
Police inquiries are ongoing and so far no arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.
Now Dundee City Council is asking anyone who may have concerns about vehicles purchased in the city in recent months to contact its trading standards service.
