Jordan Moore, the Dundee United striker who recently won a battle with skin cancer, is running the Glasgow half-marathon for charity. The 20-year-old is planning to run the race with friends and family to raise £1,000 for the British Skin Foundation. Jordan also wants to encourage people to get moles and lumps checked out before it is too late. He said: “In September I noticed a small mole on my cheek. “It started to grow and my mum was on at me to have it checked out. “Thank God I did I was diagnosed in January and recovered, but if I’d left it any longer I might not have been so lucky.” So far, the footballer has raised £380 towards his fundraising target. The marathon takes place on October 5. He added: “This is my first half marathon. I urge anyone who can to sponsor me, even if they just donate £1 every bit counts. “Malignant melanoma incidence rates in Britain have more than quadrupled over the last 30 years. “This is largely due to lack of public awareness.” Anyone wishing to donate, can do so at Jordan’s JustGiving page.
