Mother still has no answers two years after son’s death

A Dundee mother is still fighting for answers over the death of her son, two years after he passed away.
Dorothy Davidson, 53, found her son Craig dead on the kitchen floor of their Charleston home in May 2012.
The father-of-two had been to Ninewells Hospital with stomach pains and later called a doctor out to the house, but his ruptured spleen was not diagnosed and the 28-year-old slowly bled to death.
In a desperate bid to find out why her son’s fatal problem went unnoticed, Mrs Davidson has written to First Minister Alex Salmond calling for answers.
She said: “This is my son and I will fight until my dying day to get justice for Craig.
“It has an effect on my whole family, it was taking over my life. It’s not fair it could have been avoided and Craig could be still here today.”
A spokesman for NHS Tayside said they were unable to comment on individual cases due to patient confidentiality.
