Dundee City Council has granted planning permission for two industrial units to be turned into a snooker club.
Applicant Christopher Airlie proposed the development for part of Angus Works at the junction of Fairbairn Street and Neish Street, near Gussie Park and Dens Road Primary School.
A planning officer said the area already has a range of industrial and commercial uses, including offices and a fitness studio.
Although there is no dedicated parking for the premises, there is ample on-street parking.
“The main demand from parking is generated from the primary school opposite the site at peak periods throughout the day.
“It is considered that the main demand for parking that might be associated with the current proposals would not coincide with these times and, therefore, there is no conflict between the existing uses and the proposals,” the officer’s report said.
Only minor exterior alterations would be made and, although security mesh would be added to some of the windows, there were no issues regarding the appearance of the building.
