A lorry burst into flames on the A90 southbound just a few miles outside of Dundee.
Dramatic images of the lorry aflame were captured by those passing by when the fire broke out at 1:50.
The lorry was quickly doused by Tayside Fire and Rescue within half an hour.
Two appliances attended the incident on the Forfar Road, but only one hosereel was needed to extinguish the flames.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Police closed one carriageway southbound to allow the lorry to be towed, disrupting the Friday night rush hour, and the T in the Park traffic coming from the North East.
Traffic was moving slowly past the burned out wreck on Friday afternoon.
Police stated that the cause of the fire was unknown.
The green and red Iveco flatbed was operated by Green Cat Renewables out of Lanarkshire.
