Armed robbers have targeted a store on one of Dundee city centre’s busiest shopping streets.

Knife-wielding thugs threatened staff with a knife at GAME, Murraygate, before making off with a number of items.

The brazen attack took place in broad daylight while dozens of shoppers went about their business.

Police are now hunting the two men responsible for the theft, after they apparently pulled the blade on staff after they were spotted stealing the items.

A spokesman for Police Scotland, Tayside Division, described the culprits.

He said: “One of the men is described as being in his 40s, creased face, short greyish hair wearing a white t-shirt with a design pattern on the front and over knee length shorts on.

“He was in possession of a white sturdy plastic bag with a logo.

“The other man is described as being late 20s, closely shaven dark hair, large nose, dark baggy jacket, dark jacket, in possession of a large blue Tesco ‘bag for life’ style bag.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses in relation to the theft, which took place at around 6pm on Thursday July 10.

Anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and who may have witnessed the incident or has any other information with regard to the crime is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any Police Officer.

Alternatively, information can be passed to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 1111.
