Lifelong Dundee FC fan Davie Wilson will never forget his retirement presentation at Dundee and Angus College.
A surprise guest turned up to pass on his best wishes to the maintenance technician none other than Dundee FC legend Alan Gilzean.
Colleagues in the buildings and estates support team discovered Alan would be in the area on holiday this week and invited him to come along to the occasion on the Kingsway campus.
David was amazed when his childhood hero came into the room, and said: “It made my day.”
David, who has been on the college’s staff for 23 years, officially retires next Friday.
Alan Gilzean, now 75, was a star of the Dundee team that won the Scottish league championship in 1961-62.
He spent seven years at Dens Park and scored 169 goals before being transferred to Tottenham Hotspur, where he scored 93 times in a 10-year spell.
