Scores of demonstrators gathered in Dundee’s City Square to protest Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip.
Supporters of both the Tayside for Justice in Palestine and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign attended the event.
The group were demanding an end to military aggression by Israel, an end to the siege of Gaza and withdrawal from the Occupied Territories. They also called for an end of arms exports to Israel.
Nadia El-Nakla, a founder member of Tayside for Justice in Palestine, has a brother currently in Gaza whom she sent photos of the protest.
She said: “The conflict in Palestine breaks my heart not because I am a Muslim or a Scottish Palestinian, but because I am a human.
“Imagine being bombarded by bombs and having no place to hide. That is what is happening in Gaza right now, to my brother and over one million Palestinians who live on a piece of land that is 25 miles long and six miles wide.
“The death toll is rising by the second. There must be justice for this ongoing oppression,” she added.
The protesters raised around £600 for Medical Aid for Palestine, which provide medical supplies to the crisis-struck Gaza Strip. The action in City Square was one of a number of protests going on nationally.
