A second chance to celebrate punk as Skeemfest returns to Dundee
ByThe Courier Reporter
A celebration of punk rock is returning to Dundee this weekend in memory of a local musician.
Following on from the success of last year’s Skeemfest, the second helping of punk rock will be served up in Dundee’s Beat Generator on Saturday.
Organisers have decided to dedicate Skeemfest 2 to the memory of “Zip” Allan Stewart, a well-known face in the Dundee punk rock scene who recently passed away.
Hosted by The Cundeez, in conjunction with Punk Star Industries and Bombjuice Promotions, the event will be headlined by GBH.
With nine other bands in support, including Subvision, Shatterhand, The Obscenities Buzzbomb, The Jackhammers as well as Jim Threat And The Vultures, the event organisers are promising something for everyone.
A mix of folk punk is flying in from the Netherlands in the form of The McGonagalls and Dundee’s very own Overdose will be releasing their debut EP at the festival.
Doors open at 3pm and tickets are available from Grouchos or on the door.
