Scotland’s “other national drink” has unveiled a new advert featuring Dundee man Gary Cocker.
Irn-Bru’s search to find Scotland’s ultimate Born Supporters in the lead up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games resulted in him being selected to represent Dundee on bus shelters and outdoor advertising in and around the city.
The competition forms part of the brand’s Born To Support campaign, which celebrates Scots as the world’s greatest supporters.
Gary’s entry to star in the campaign was an instant winner with the soft drink giant’s panel of judges.
A selfie of him cheering on Team Scotland to a gold medal win perfectly captured the rousing spirit of Scottish supporters.
Adrian Troy of A G Barr, makers of Irn-Bru, said: “Gary’s entry to start in our new ad campaign really proved he’s the ultimate Born Supporter.
“Despite being on holiday during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Gary still intends to don his kilt and support Team Scotland from afar.”
The national advertising campaign features several sports supporters from different cities and towns across Scotland.
The winning supporter from each region is mocked up in the style of a sports sticker album for the adverts, with a headline proclaiming the type of supporter they are Gary is a Keen Bean, not a Nail Biter or a Laldy Giver.
