A pensioner has been found after going missing for almost 48 hours.
Irene Cathro, 65, was found in the Clearwater Park area after vanishing from Beach Crescent on Thursday afternoon.
The Police Scotland Air Support unit, supported by a number of search teams on the ground, found Mrs Cathro, who has now been taken to Ninewells hospital.
Police had been scouring the north of Broughty Ferry after a member of the public reported seeing Mrs Cathro near the Abroath Road.
Superintendent Graeme Murdoch of Tayside Division said: “We are delighted to have found Irene and our best wishes go to her and her family.
“We rightly dedicated significant resources to the search but as ever, the assistance we have had from members of the public and the media has played a big part in what is a really positive outcome.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us over the last two days.”
