Final preparations are being put in place to transform City Square into a Commonwealth Games celebration venue.
Dundee is hosting hundreds of international athletes, who are taking part in shooting tournaments at Barry Buddon.
The city council has organised seven days of events starting on Wednesday to welcome the international visitors to the city.
A giant screen in the square will relay all the action from the Glasgow games and there will be a varied programme of sporting and cultural activities in the city.
Dundee City Council and its partners have put on an exciting programme of activities for all the family during the games, which the lord provost encouraged people to support.
After the games, the City Square will be decked out for the BBC Great War event on August 1 and 2 and the visit of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on August 19.
The events will show off the benefits of the £2 million refurbishment of City Square, spending which city development convener Will Dawson said was necessary with the massive amount of work going on across Dundee.
