Scottish Water have said they have spent more than £780,000 to solve historic flooding problems affecting 43 properties in Roseangle.
Residents of the West End street have sometimes endured flooding owing to drains becoming blocked, or during heavy rain the drains being unable to cope with the amount of water passing through them.
Contractors surveyed the pipe network, including using CCTV cameras, to identify the problems and a new valve has now been fitted which should prevent further occurrences.
Project manager James Weir said: “Scottish Water is working incredibly hard to achieve further reductions in flooding and protect the surrounding environment.
“We are well aware the consequences of flooding can cause much misery and it’s vital we continue to work with our customers to reduce the number of incidents occurring.
“With over 80% of flooding from sewers caused by inappropriate items being disposed of in toilets and drains, we must encourage everyone to dispose of waste items properly, preventing needless flooding and in return help improve the environment.”
