Annette Mackay, a former nursery nurse who worked with deaf children in Dundee, has died at the age of 79.
She spent 25 years at the School for the Deaf on Dudhope Terrace and in the unit for deaf children at Macalpine School.
Originally from Glasgow, Annette Buist travelled North with her mother and aunt and lived in Tayport.
She met husband Ron Mackay, who ran a plant hire firm, and the couple made their home in the Perth Road area.
They had two daughters, Fiona, who died in infancy, and Lesley.
The Mackays later divorced and Mrs Mackay settled in Barnhill, where she involved herself in many community ventures including campaigning for better bus services.
