A textiles factory was evacuated after a machine caught fire.
The fire service attended JT Inglis & Sons Ltd at Stannergate Road in Dundee after a call was received at 8.56am on Tuesday.
Watch manager Fraser Johnston said: “On arrival there was heavy smoke issuing from the premises.
“The fire had spread through ventilation ducting from the machinery up into a ventilation duct in the roof. This was contained using an aerial appliance.”
Three pumps and four special appliances attended the scene. The factory was fully staffed and an evacuation took place. It is understood there were around 40 employees working at the time.
There were no casualties. JT Inglis & Sons Ltd was founded in 1917 and produces fabrics for military and commercial markets.
