The home would look after people with learning disabilities, autism or Down’s syndrome who have left foster or residential care after turning 18 and need to learn independent living skills.
A submission accompanying the planning applications states: “The emphasis is on working in partnership with the young adults, their families and placing authorities to enable them to maximise their potential within a caring, stable environment.”
A maximum of two support staff would be on duty at any one time.
The Care Inspectorate has already checked the house is suitable for the proposed use and the submission says there would be ample parking for staff and visitors such as relatives and social workers.
