The family of a Dundee woman who went missing last week have thanked emergency services after she was found safe.
Police launched a two-day hunt for Irene Cathro, 65, after she disappeared in Broughty Ferry on Thursday while visiting a relative at a nursing home.
Air support officers found her and she was taken to Ninewells Hospital, where she remains under observation.
Her son Tony said: “We still don’t know exactly what happened to her, as we don’t want to broach the subject until she’s had time to fully recover.
“We would like to give a huge thanks to Police Scotland Tayside Division, Police Scotland Air Support unit and the search and rescue teams. Also members of the public.”
Police Superintendent Graeme Murdoch said: “The assistance we have had from members of the public has played a big part in what is a really positive outcome.”
