Firm’s Dundee expansion plan could tackle Traveller problem
ByThe Courier Reporter
An Angus firm behind plans to turn a Dundee car park into offices hopes to rid the site of problems with flytipping and unauthorised Traveller camps.
The disused site on Charles Bowman Avenue, at Claverhouse Industrial Estate, is regularly used by Traveller groups.
The land is now the subject of a planning bid by McKenna Electrical Contractors, which wants to use it as the location for its new headquarters.
The Kirriemuir company hopes the move will create new jobs. Director Ian McKenna said: “Logistically, it is a good site and it will hopefully open us up for more work.”
The company’s offices in Kirriemuir will remain open.
