Dancing plumber ‘director’ takes turn in the spotlight

When a video of plumber Mark Toner dancing on the job was uploaded to the internet, it turned the Dundee tradesman into an international celebrity.

Now his fellow plumber Brian Ogilvie is taking his own turn in the spotlight.

Brian, who filmed the popular clip, will appear on Channel 4’s Virtually Famous panel show on Monday night.

“I got a phone call in March from someone asking if I filmed the clip and said they are doing this show called Virtually Famous,” said Brian, owner of OG Plumbing.

“Part of the show is called Meet the Maker and the panellists have to guess who filmed a particular clip. They’re all comedians so it’s quite funny.”

After the show, Brian got to meet panellists including Russell Kane, Roisin Conaty, Alex Brooker and host, former Glee star, Kevin McHale.

“I didn’t get to meet them before the show but afterwards they came into the green room. “Russell Kane took a selfie of us on my camera and we had a few drinks. Alex Brooker is a really nice guy – he and I were the last to leave!”

Although the video of Mark dancing has now been seen millions of times and has led to appearances on TV in countries like Australia and the UK, Brian revealed that at first he was not happy the video had been posted online.

“He thought I was taking the Mick so took it down for a while, but when it started getting more attention he began to like it.”
