Aggressive seagulls have been a problem in Dundee and other towns and cities for years. There have been dozens of reports of gulls swooping down to steal discarded food and even from people’s hands. Last year Wave 102 DJ Gary Robinson was hospitalisedafter falling over as he sought to escape one divebombing bird. Now Dundee City Council has called in Uncle Sam in a bid to curb the seagull menace. Posters have been put up around the city centre reminding people not to feed the birds. Uncle Sam was used in Army recruitment posters in the US. The Dundee posters superimpose a seagull over his face. NB: The posters in the city centre correctly state “Your council needs you”.
