Dundee’s Flower and Food Festival is coming to the boil just nicely.
The city’s largest event was officially launched in City Square today, and it was revealed that MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace and Scottish chef Tony Singh will be heading the line-up.
Gregg said: “I’m very happy to be taking part. I am embarrassed to say this will be my first visit but I have a feeling it won’t be my last.
“There is nothing I enjoy more than talking food and drink with like-minded people. I will be down early to have a good mingle and a good nibble.
“I am looking forward to putting on a few pounds. See you there.”
Musical entertainment will be provided by Caledonia star Dougie MacLean.
The three-day extravaganza runs from September 4 to 6 and is organised by the council as well as local groups.
Gardening fans will be treated to the Kitchen Garden Magazine Roadshow with Martin Fish, Sarah Hopps and Steve Ott.
For the children, Mr Bloom, the CBeebies star will be treating toddlers to stories, gardening games and catchy nursery songs.
More than 100 trophies will be up for grabs and the festival will be hosting the National Vegetable UK Championships and the Scottish Chrysanthemum and Dahlia National Show.
Tickets go on sale next week.
