A man who attacked a woman on her way home was caught after his victim recognised him in pictures taken by a nightclub photographer, Dundee Sheriff Court has heard.
Craig Walls, 22, launched the assault on Roksana Maksymowicz as she walked home in darkness from her shift behind the bar at Dundee’s Underground nightclub.
Drunken Walls trailed her from the city’s Hawkhill to Milnbank Road, almost a mile away, where she confronted him.
Walls then grabbed Miss Maksymowicz and shoved her into shutters outside a shop, causing her to fall to the ground.
She tried to scream but he stuffed his fingers into her mouth in a bid to shut her up.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told Dundee Sheriff Court that the 19-year-old then kicked Walls before biting his fingers.
Two residents heard her screams, the depute fiscal said, and came to her assistance, finding her “in pain and very much shaken”.
She was able to identify Walls from photos posted on the Underground Facebook page, the depute fiscal told the court.
Walls of Milton Brae, Glenrothes, pleaded guilty on indictment to a charge of assault to injury committed on September 2 2014.
Ross Bennett, defending, said: “It is unlikely something like this will happen in the future with Mr Walls.”
Sheriff Alistair Carmichael deferred sentence until next month for social work background reports and released Walls on bail in the meantime.
