Young Dundee mother ‘left feeling sick’ after finding used needles hidden in council home

A young mother has been left traumatised after finding used needles lying behind her sink while looking for her daughter’s toothbrush.
Nicole Gibson, 21, from St Mary’s, said she was left “feeling sick” after coming across half a dozen needles hidden behind a bathroom panel in her home.
Ms Gibson, who rents her flat from the council and has lived there for two years, said: “I’m still in shock by the whole thing. I just can’t believe it because it really isn’t something I expected to find.
“The council had been out to fix a problem in the bathroom and needed to take the panel under the sink off.
“When the workers left, they hadn’t put it back on right, but I hadn’t really thought much of it.
“It wasn’t until I was in the bathroom with my twin daughters, Lexi and Millie, brushing their teeth that I came across the needles.
“I am completely disgusted and I just can’t believe it. I feel physically sick.”
A Dundee City Council spokesman said the local authority would remove the needles.
