ByThe Courier Reporter
A fundraising bid is under way to bring back to Dundee the body of a dad who has died suddenly in Australia.
Expat Gary Gordon, 44, was found dead at home near Melbourne on Saturday and it will cost thousands of pounds to fly his body and his family home to Scotland.
Gary and his wife Traceyann moved to Melbourne from Whitfield around five years ago.
Traceyann’s daughter Sinead Campbell, 23, who lives in Dundee, said: “My heart is completely broken I just wish I could be there and hold her but I can’t just now.
“It is still such a shock for everyone because it was so sudden.”
A trained electrician, Gary had been working as a driver for the child protection department while Traceyann worked as a social worker.
The cause of his death is still unknown, but it is understood Traceyann found him unresponsive after he went for a lie down.
