ByThe Courier Reporter
A 30-year-old man threw a glass ashtray at a woman, which smashed off a wall and hit on the head a child she was holding.
Mark Taylor, of Canning Place, is behind bars today after a jury at Dundee Sheriff Court found him guilty of three charges of assault, which also included two attacks with table legs.
He was found guilty of assaulting a woman, while she was holding a child, by throwing a glass ashtray at her.
The charge stated that the ashtray struck her on the head, and thereafter struck a wall, whereby it broke and pieces of the ashtray struck the child on the head, all to the injury of the woman, on December 4 2011, at a property in Dundee.
Taylor was further found guilty of a second charge of assaulting the same woman by pushing her on the body, causing her to fall, and thereafter repeatedly striking her on the body with a table leg, all to her injury.
That incident took place at the same location on February 3 2012.
He was found guilty of a third charge of assaulting another woman by striking her on the body with a table leg, at the same date and at the same location. Sentence was deferred until June 16 for reports.
Taylor was remanded meantime.
