Daredevils unleash their inner superhero for charity abseil at Dundee University tower

More than 50 volunteers have raised around £11,000 for charity by abseiling 140ft.
People from across Fife and Tayside took part in the fifth annual Marie Curie Daredevil Challenge at Dundee University Tower Building.
Organised by Marie Curie’s Dundee fundraising group, the abseil generates money to help provide free nursing care at home to terminally-ill people.
Marie Curie patron Petra McMillan, who launched the event five years ago, praised those who took part.
She said: “Without a doubt, the conditions this year were the toughest our daredevils have ever faced.
“High winds on the ground are felt much more keenly 140ft in the air so the fact that all our abseilers completed the challenge is a testament to their bravery and commitment and also to our team who kept everyone safe and allowed them to achieve their goal on the day.”
“Thanks to their dedication we’ll now be able to ‘buy’ 550 hours of care for individuals who want to be at home at the end of life, supported by our wonderful community nursing service.”
