A man who lost a leg to cancer completed an epic 117-mile walk for Maggie’s on Sunday. Dr Bob Grant was seen to the finish by more than 100 bikers from the Dunedin Chapter of Harley Davidson Owners. Dr Grant was first diagnosed with cancer as a teenager, just weeks after he lost his best friend to the disease. He decided to have his leg amputated in 2002 after living for years with pain and infection. This year’s walk is his fourth for Maggie’s. His walk began on June 13 at the Kelpies, just a few miles from the site of Maggie’s Forth Valley. Walking for nine days he was joined by groups of friends and supporters along the way.
