The case against a Dundee fast food restaurant accused of having beetles and flies on serving counters and food preparation areas has been continued.
Operators of the KFC on the High Street face two charges under food safety and hygiene regulations after an inspection in September last year
It is alleged that live houseflies were found on the front servery counter and in the food preparation areas, while live dermestes beetle larvae is said to have been found on the floor under the front counter.
Beetles and larva were also allegedly found in the office, under a coffee machine and on the floor under a dessert preparation area.
Scotco (Eastern) Ltd, which runs the restaurant, is also alleged to have failed to ensure compliance with food safety regulations in that the floors were dirty with accumulated food debris and grease and areas of the kitchen were dirty.
The company faces charges under the Food Safety Regulations 1995 and the Food Hygiene (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
Sheriff Tom Hughes continued the case without plea.
