The Higher maths exam may have proved too difficult for some but Stuart Jackson had no problems with the Intermediate 2 paper achieving top marks despite being only 11.
An anxious wait for exam results ended triumphantly for the majority of Dundee pupils as improved results were recorded across the city.
Among those celebrating was 11-year-old Stuart Jackson, who achieved an A grade in Intermediate 2 maths an exam most people take when they are around 16.
Education convener Stewart Hunter said: “I would like to congratulate all our young people… and thank their families for their support and encouragement.”
