Video: Dundee driver caught driving on wrong side of road

A video has emerged showing a car driving the wrong way up Dundee’s busy West Marketgait.

The silver car, caught on a dashboard cam, heads up the right-hand side of the thoroughfare, before veering into the Nethergate again on the wrong side of the road.

The dangerous antics, posted on Facebook, have already been viewed more than a thousand times.

Ian Hoskins, who captured the footage, said: “I often wonder what some drivers in Dundee are thinking when they are in the car.”

He told The Courier: “He was definitely aware he was driving on the wrong side of the road. On the longer video he’d been sitting at that junction for 10 or 15 seconds.

“I was really shocked to see him coming up past me on the wrong side.”

However, Mr Hoskins said it was not the worst piece of driving he has seen this year.

“We were onholiday in Bournemouth earlier this year and I saw two or three incidents with motorbikes that really scared me,” he said.
