Police have launched an investigation after a 30-year-old man was assaulted on the Caird Park golf course in Dundee.
Officers and an ambulance crew were called to the area, with the man treated at the scene for an arm injury.
Police are looking for a man, believed to be in his thirties, in connection with Wednesday’s incident.
One woman, who did not want to be named, said that Caird Park was full of police, with officers standing at each entrance.
She said there were around a dozen police cars, a van, an ambulance and a CID car.
She added: “The police were standing at all the entrances like they were trying to stop someone from leaving.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after a 30-year-old man was assaulted in Caird Park, Mains Loan, Dundee, at about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.
“The incident happened in a wooded area near to the starting box at the nine-hole golf course and the man sustained an injury to his arm.
“Police are keen to trace a man in connection with the assault who is described as being in his mid-thirties, about 5ft 10 in, of slim build with a short light brown/grey beard.
“At the time he was wearing a white baseball cap, a black hooded zip-up top, dark jogging bottoms and white shoes or trainers.
“Officers are making inquiries into the full circumstances of the incident and anyone who may have been in the area of Caird Park at the time and saw or heard any suspicious activity is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
