A man who threatened a fellow parent with violence in front of small children at a Dundee primary school was told he had set a bad example for his own children by a sheriff.
James Morrison, 33, of Helmsdale Avenue, pled guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour towards another parent at Sidlaw View Primary school.
The court heard he had a dispute with a mother of another youngster, over their children.
On May 13, following an alleged assault on his daughter during the school trip, Morrison confronted the complainer and shouted and swore at her in front of children.
Fiscal depute Trina Sinclair told the court: “There have been problems between the accused’s child and the witnesses child and allegations of bullying.”
Ms Sinclair said Morrison was described as “irate” when he confronted the mother, who he accused of hitting his daughter, in front of a number of pupils.
Defence solicitor Chris Gilmartin said two of Morrison’s five children had issues with the mother which had been ongoing for a year.
Mr Gilmartin said: “His intention when he went to the school was to speak to the head teacher. The confrontation took place by chance.
“He accepts that the children should not have seen that.”
The court also heard that charges of threatening and abusive behaviour towards a 12-year-old and assualt have been made against the other parent.
Deferring sentence on Morrison, Sheriff George Way said: “How do adults like Mr Morrison expect their children to behave when he comes to school and does this?”
