The Justice for Sheku Bayoh Campaign took part in an anti-racism march in Dundee.
The Dundee Together event was set-up in the wake of Scottish Defence League protest in the city in 2011.
Members of Mr Bayoh’s family joined trade unionists and social justice campaigners on the march, which started in City Square.
Several dozen protesters, flanked by police, walked to Albert Square for a short ceremony at Dundee’s memorial to International Brigade fighters who travelled to fight Franco in the Spanish Civil War.
Many took up the historic slogan – “no passaran” – of the communist volunteers as they marched.
Mr Bayoh’s family said they were attending the event to raise of their justice campaign.
More than a hundred people had already attended the Dundee Together festival, which included musical performances, political stalls and speeches.
