Desperate Dan gets given some new headgear to stave off Dundee rain

Desperate Dan in Dundee’s City Square has been given a hat in the form of a traffic cone.
In a mimic of the headdress famously placed on the Duke of Wellington in Glasgow, a passer-by put the cone on Dan’s head during Wednesday’s wet weather.
The move has sparked interest on social media, with one Twitter user describing it as “far funnier than it should be”.
It is not the first time playful pranksters have utilised City Square for their antics.
The fountains outside the Caird Hall have regularly been regularly filled with foam an action condemned by city council chiefs.
