A girl has been charged by police after allegedly making up to 160 hoax calls to the emergency services.
It is claimed that the 12-year-old made the malicious calls over the course of a few months earlier this year.
The alleged incidents came to light during a meeting of Dundee’s East End Community Planning Partnership.
Fire chiefs were presenting details of incidents they had dealt with in the area.
It is claimed some of the calls were directed to the fire service.
A police spokeswoman said the girl had been charged.
She said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 12-year-old girl has been charged in connection with a number of hoax calls made to emergency services between May and June this year.
“A report has been submitted to the Youth Justice Assessor for consideration.”
At the meeting in Douglas, Craig Thomson manager at Macalpine Road fire station revealed how, between April and June, fire officers had been involved in some bizarre incidents.
One involved helping an elderly lady who had fallen and was trapped between a radiator and a wall. He said: “We don’t know how she got there but the ambulance service couldn’t get her out and we were called. The whole incident was quite traumatising for the elderly lady.”
Another incident involved removing a toilet training seat from a little girl’s head.
