A man was arrested at a Dundee hotel after allegedly biting his partner and attacking a member of staff then threatening to kill three police officers.
William Carmichael, 50, was detained after police were called to the Holiday Inn Express on Dock Street.
Eyewitnesses described seeing officers racing to the scene after reports of a disturbance taking place in one of the rooms.
Carmichael, from Paisley, was taken away and charged in connection with the alleged offences.
He faces a charge of assaulting his partner by lifting her and throwing her to the ground at the Holiday Inn Express on Sunday.
He is then accused of threatening to throw her out of a window, seizing her by the hair, dragging her by the body, attempting to butt her on the head and biting her lip, all to her injury.
In a second charge, Carmichael is accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, shouting, swearing and threatening his partner, threatening a hotel employee with violence and attempting to headbutt the member of staff.
He is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and threatening to kill three police constables when taken to Dundee’s police headquarters.
Carmichael, of Blackwood Avenue, pleaded not guilty to all the charges during an appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He will return to court for an intermediate diet on December 21 this year ahead of trial on January 7 next year.
Carmichael has been released on bail.
