Police have launched a manhunt for a “scar-faced man” who carried out a serious sexual assault on a woman in Dundee on Wednesday.
Officers say the terrifying attack happened in a car park behind the Deja Vu nightclub.
The woman had been out in town during the day when she was approached by the man in the Murraygate and struck up a conversation.
Later, around 7pm, the man and woman were in the private car park off St Andrews Street when he committed a serious sexual assault.
The man, who is thought to be in his 20s, then left on a black and silver bicycle.
Police say the woman was extremely distressed by the incident but was not injured.
The attacker is described as being about 5ft 8in, slim and was wearing glasses. He had a long scar down his right cheek and had unkempt short dark brown hair.
At the time he was wearing a purple hooded jacket, dark jogging bottoms with a light-coloured logo on the right thigh and dark trainers with white laces and trim.
He was carrying a clear plastic bag when he rode off.
A police spokesman said: “Officers have carried out a full forensic examination at the scene, as well as trawling both public and private CCTV coverage and conducting door to door enquiries in the area.
“Police Scotland would appeal to anyone who recognises this man by the description give, or who has information useful to enquiries, to call them immediately on 101, or speak to any officer.”
