Attempted murderer fails to return to Castle Huntly
ByThe Courier Reporter
An attempted murderer who absconded from the Castle Huntly open prison a week ago is being hunted by police.
Michael McInnes, 23, failed to return when expected on December 4 after being granted a period of home release to an address in Glasgow.
He was jailed for six years in 2010 for attacking Kevin McNee in Coatbridge in 2009.
The police have now issued a public appeal to track him down him and return him to prison.
McInnes is believed to frequent the Glenluce area of Wigtownshire and the Bellshill area of Glasgow and police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them.
He is described as being 6ft tall, with short brown hair and a star tattoo on his neck behind both ears.
Anyone who has seen him, or who knows where he is, is being asked to contact the police on 101, or to speak to any police officer.
