A man who over-indulged at a Christmas party free bar laid on by his employers has been fined for a bust-up.
Janis Bumeistars downed whisky and vodka at the Piperdam bash a few days before Christmas, but ended up falling out with his girlfriend and the bouncers at the Fowlis country club.
At Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday, the 25-year-old Latvian, of Provost Road, admitted assaulting a woman.
He also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards two men and struggling with them.
Defence agent Robin Beattie said his client had been in Scotland for three years and was regarded as a hard-working member of staff by his employers at a crisp factory in Errol.
“He had drunk whisky and vodka and his recollection of events is sketchy,” said Mr Beattie.
Fining Bumeistars £200, Sheriff Valerie Johnston said: “I am taking into account that this was a blemish on an otherwise clean record, that you are still quite young and that your employers were perhaps a little irresponsible in the amount of drink involved but you were equally irresponsible in drinking it.”
