ByAndrew Liddle
A striking street statue one of a pair touring Scotland has been damaged in Dundee’s City Square.
The Kelpie maquettes, based on two new works by world-renowned Scottish artist Andy Scott, have previously been at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and last week visited Perth’s Horsecross Plaza.
This week, the 3m-tall statues arrived in Dundee’s City Square to wide acclaim.
However, just three days in to their week-long stay in the city one of the statues has been damaged.Photo gallery:The Kelpies horse sculptures canter into DundeeA probe is now under way to find out if vandals are responsible.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are aware of concerns and are looking into the matter.”
