A man stole his friend’s bank card and used it to buy almost £500 of computer equipment and games, a court heard.
Mark Spiljard also used the card to withdraw £200 in cash after his friend loaned him the card to buy a round of drinks in a city centre nightclub.
Depute fiscal Kirsten Thomson told Dundee Sheriff Court: “The complainer was a friend of the accused and they were on a night out.
“At around midnight the complainer gave the accused his card to pay for drinks. The accused retained the card unknown to the complainer.”
Later that day, Spiljard purchased a PlayStation 4 and games worth £481 from CEX on Whitehall Street, paid with the complainer’s card and PIN.
The court heard that Spiljard later returned the goods to the shop.
Miss Thomson said: “The complainer discovered his card was missing and contacted the Bank of Scotland, who told him his card had been used at an ATM.”
Spiljard, 22, of Park Avenue, admitted stealing a bank card at Liquid Nightclub on August 31.
He also admitted using the bank card to steal £200 from an ATM on the same date. Spiljard admitted a third charge of using the card to fraudulently obtain £481 of goods from CEX on Whitehall Street on August 31.
Sentence was deferred until April 24 for reports.
